What is the appointment process in NYC?

Can I just walk in without an appointment?
For the sake of ensuring that all of our customers receive equal time with the appraiser, we prefer to schedule appointments in advance. However, walk-ins are also welcome. The appraiser won’t assist other customers while you wait if you make an appointment.
How Long is a Managed Services Contract For?
Alfase offers multiple payment options, such as cash, checks (personal or bank-certified), money orders, or wire transfers. A price is always provided on the spot after the appraisal.
Is there anything I should bring to the appraisal?
It is recommended that you bring a government-issued ID. Our building security requires it, as well as New York State law, which requires a copy of your ID. Your item should be accompanied by any accompanying documentation (such as appraisals, receipts, etc.). Please bring any other jewelry you wish to have examined as well. Please do not bring more than you want to be examined.
During an appraisal, will the stones need to be removed from the setting?
For an accurate appraisal, we almost never have to remove the stones from their settings. When we do have to remove a stone, we will always ask the client’s permission before doing so. Afterwards, we can expertly reset the stone without removing it from your sight.

What are the steps to submitting a mail-in kit?
You will receive an email shortly after filling out a form with a prepaid FedEx label in your inbox. You’ll receive a tracking number as well as insurance for your items, which are shipped in a padded envelope for your protection. We usually receive your item within 1-2 business days, and we will contact you to confirm receipt. We will make you an offer within 24 – 48 hours after receiving your item. You can decide how to receive your payment if you like the offer, and if you don’t like it, we will send it back at no charge to you. What insurance policies do you offer and what delivery methods do you offer?
You can insure your valuables up to $1 million with a mail-in kit, if you choose to do so.
In addition to 2nd day FedEx shipping, we also work with UPS, USPS, DHL, and other shipping companies.
Is Alfase able to accept sales from countries outside the United States?
Shipping internationally is something we do, and we’ve worked with clients all over the world. Due to the fact that each country has a different set of laws and regulations, we will have to coordinate to make this happen.
Please send high-quality photos to info@alfasejewelry.com along with any additional information, such as certifications, past appraisals, or original boxes and receipts, along with a detailed description of the item. An appraiser can use this information to determine whether it would be advisable to begin a transaction abroad.
Do appraisals usually take a long time?
The appraisal process varies according to the number of items that are delivered to us. The appraisal process usually takes about 10-15 minutes.
Calculating offers: how does it work?
In order to calculate offers, several factors are taken into account – such as market price, supply and demand, weight, condition, quality, and brand.
GIA or AGS certificates are recommended for diamonds and precious stones, as they provide the appraiser with more information.
